- This award enables the construction of an electrical substation in the Port of Valencia which will interconnect the power supply network of the Port Authority’s installations with the high voltage distribution network
València, 25 September 2024.-The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has today awarded the construction works of the ST1 electrical substation in the Port of València for 13,901,013.94 euros (VAT included) to the UTE de Lantania S.A.U. and S.T.M. Alta Tensión S.A.U.
This award allows the construction of an electrical substation in the Port of València that will allow the interconnection of the power supply network of the Port Authority’s facilities with the high voltage distribution network and, specifically, with the 132 kV voltage level.
The 132/20kv ST1 substation will guarantee optimum conditions for the supply of electrical energy to the Port of València to meet new consumption requirements, derived from the plans to provide electricity supply to ships moored in port, which will reduce atmospheric emissions and noise pollution in the port.
With this infrastructure in place, Valenciaport will have the capacity to meet the growing demand for energy in an adequate manner and in conjunction with the generation of electricity through renewable energy (currently solar photovoltaic). Thanks to this, it will be possible to guarantee the needs of the new energy requirements and to continue to advance on the roadmap of the Port Authority of Valencia towards its major objective of zero emissions. This new electrical substation has the support of the European Commission through the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility).
