- The main trade fair for the logistics and transport sector in Asia will be held from 23 to 25 September in the city of Shenzhen (China) and Valenciaport will have its own stand at the event
València, 25 September 2024.-La The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) is participating in the International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair, the main trade fair for the logistics and transport sector in Asia, which is being held from 23 to 25 September in the city of Shenzhen (China). The PAV will have its own stand at this event. The event brings together visitors from the five continents and occupies an exhibition area of 100,000 m2, where 2,000 exhibiting companies from the sector and around 75,000 visitors meet.
The Valenciaport delegation, headed by Cristina Rodriguez, head of containers of the PAV, attends with the aim of highlighting the high connectivity of the Valencian docks and its differential geostrategic situation as a gateway to Europe and the Mediterranean.
Participation in forums and meetings
During his presence at the fair, Rodriguez has presented the main competitive advantages of Valenciaport and its broad commitment to technological and sustainable innovation. Likewise, she has detailed the infrastructures of the Valencian docks explaining the new projects underway such as the North Terminal or the new railway connections.
Cristina Rodríguez has held meetings with relevant agents of the logistics sector in China in which the excellent connections of the Valencian precinct with Asia have been highlighted. Thus, their presence at the Shenzhen Automotive Maritime Logistics International Forum (organised by Shenzhen Port Group Co., Ltd.) has allowed them to learn first-hand about the export work of the main Asian firms and to look for partners in the Asian ports and operators of the automotive traffic.
In addition, the delegation provided institutional support to the official bodies organising the fair at the LSCMA 30th Anniversary Celebration and CILF Gala Dinner.
Traffic with China
So far in 2024, China has moved 5.29 million tonnes through Valenciaport’s docks. As far as container traffic is concerned, this year China has channelled 468,350 TEUs. The Chinese ports with which Valenciaport channels the largest number of movements are Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Qingdao, Xiamen, Tianjin y Hong Kong.
