Innovative ports committed to a sustainable future

The Port Authority of Valencia is firmly convinced that innovation is the key to the competitiveness of our ports. Furthermore, it is important to consider the project’s sustainability and the potential for wealth and job creation in our sphere of influence. This is why we are committed to continuing to promote new ideas that will help transform our business models, making us more efficient, better connected, more secure, more transparent and more accountable.

How do we do it

We always work in a collaborative spirit

As the African proverb states, if you want to go fast, travel alone; if you want to go far, travel together. At the PAV, we believe that innovation is accelerated when you travel in good company. It is for this reason that we participate in sectoral forums and innovation meetings, where we can share experiences and identify the most suitable company for this journey.

Examples of such collaboration include our participation in the European Logistics Technology Platform, ALICE, and in the European Maritime Technology Platform, Waterborne.

Similarly, within the context of OPENTOP, the PAV has endorsed the establishment of the Port Innovation Network (PIN), which aims to serve as a platform for port open innovation hubs. This initiative is spearheaded by the Homeport of the Port of Hamburg in Germany and The Pier of the Port of Halifax in Canada.
