The exhibition opened today Thursday at 2.30 pm and will remain open until 9 September

Representatives of the four great religions will receive, next week, the statue of the Buddha Mahar Karuna in Valencia as a sign of respect and peace

The emblematic Clock Building of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) opened its doors today at 2.30 pm to exhibit the Buddha from Myanmar that arrived at the port last Monday. The exhibition will remain open for visits from 11 am to 7 pm every day until September 9th at 2 pm. During this stay, two events will be held, one civil and one religious, on 8th and 9th September where representatives of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist religion will be present.

During this morning, the APV together with the Lumbini Foundation has finalized the details of the installation of the sculpture on its pedestal. The Buddha is owned by the Lumbini Garden Foundation and is an exact replica of a Great Buddha of 40 meters. The replica is 2 meters high, weighs two tons and is made of Burmese white jade.

The statue is a gift that the Lumbini Garden Foundation has made to the city of Cáceres, where the largest Buddhist temple in Europe will be built with an investment of 72 million euros.

The figure departed a month ago from the port of Thilawa (Myanmar, formerly Burma) to Valencia, before its final location in Cáceres. The ship Ain Snan, from the company UASC, has been in charge of moving the piece by sea to the Valencian docks, thus covering the 9,383 km distance that separates us from the Burmese port, a route integrated into the millenary Silk Route.
