València, January 14, 2019.- The Board of Directors of Valencia Intermodal Platform and Logistics (VPI Logistics) has agreed, unanimously, this morning to award the company TEMPE SA (INDITEX group) the Z1 plot of Parc Sagunt, owned by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV).

The TEMPE offer was the only one presented in the competition organized by VPI Logistics, based on the interest shown by this company for the plot of 279,380 square meters.

The offer presented by TEMPE (and accepted by VPI Logistics) contemplates:

  • A purchase price of 31,039,118 euros.
  • A commitment not to sell or alienate in any way, totally or partially, the plot until the minimum term of three years elapses, starting from the start of production or business activity.
  • A commitment to effectively establish the industry or business activity in the plot acquired within a maximum period of four years, starting from the moment of signing the deed of purchase and sale of the plot.
  • A commitment to maintain the establishment with the usual production or activity for a minimum period of three years, starting from the start of production or activity.

TEMPE SA is a company of the INDITEX Group dedicated to the design, manufacture and distribution of footwear and accessories that it sells through the chains ZARA, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home, Uterqüe and Lefties.

TEMPE has offices and logistics centers in ‘Elche Parque Empresarial’, where it occupies an area of 181,200 square meters. From its work centers it manages more than 100 million units of product per year, which are distributed internationally.

The INDITEX Group has 7,422 stores in 96 countries and a workforce of 171,839 employees worldwide.

The Z1 plot of Parc Sagunt was acquired by the Port Authority of Valencia to attract and facilitate the installation of companies of economic and port interest; therefore, the award to TEMPE and the INDITEX Group of this surface fully meets the objectives pursued.

TEMPE (INDITEX) is a business group of international relevance. It is reason for satisfaction that Parc Sagunt has chosen to locate what will be one of its most important logistics centers in Spanish territory, relevance and dimensions that will have their translation in wealth generation, business activity and employment.

The location of this important logistic base of the INDITEX Group in the vicinity of the ports of Valencia and Sagunto will make this group of companies more competitive and accessible to international markets.

The proximity to a large hub port connected worldwide as the Valenciaport is a factor that acquires more and more relevance at the time of attracting important investments such as the one planned to materialize TEMPE.

To continue fostering new investments and attracting large companies in the vicinity of the port of Sagunto, the Port Authority of Valencia plans to allocate the resources obtained from the sale of plot Z1 to incentivize, activate and expedite Parc Sagunt II through the purchase of new Attractive surfaces to attract new business investments.
