In a meeting held at the International Tourism Fair, Francesca Antonelli recalled the conclusions reached last December in Valencia at Tur4all: the first international congress of accessible destinations. Antonelli pointed out that shipping companies choose destinations according to the wishes of passengers and, therefore, “it is necessary for destinations to work intensively on their communication strategies, promotion and design of the service offer in order to have a priority position”.

Likewise, Francesca Antonelli recalled the need to work together with cruise industry agents, always advised by accessibility experts “to offer the necessary level of quality and service to any person with a disability”.  In this sense, the head of marketing of the PAV has valued that “Valencia and his community are at the forefront thanks to the design of a good comprehensive communication strategy that allows to reach all audiences directly through a variety of channels”. In addition, the Valenciaport representative pointed out that the PAV will soon publish the tender for the new passenger terminal “with the will to be a model in the attention to all types of people regardless of their condition or age, and, to that end, all the contributions made during the international congress on accessible destinations are being taken into account”.

Another of the keys highlighted during his speech in Madrid was the need to raise awareness throughout the value chain: “Among the priorities of Valenciaport for the attention to the traffic of cruises is the promotion of the universal accesibility in the port, hand in hand with our port community, so that, through its gradual implementation, the cruise experience is unique, of quality, pleasant and safe for everyone. We are the first and last impression that passengers will remember from their stay in Valencia, a hinge between their experience on board and the sites to be visited at the destination and, as such, we are part of a value chain that we want to be inclusive and accessible for all our visitors”.
