València, 7 November 2023.- Valenciaport reinforces its leadership and commitment to the Asian market through an extensive presence at the China International Import Export (CIIE Shanghai) event. From 5 to 10 November, the Port Authority of València (APV) will be present at this event, considered the main international platform that connects companies from all over the world with the Chinese market, with the aim of promoting Valenciaport’s connectivity, services and value solutions in the Asian market.

Mar Chao, president of the PAV, wanted to be present at the CIIE Shanghai fair as a sign of Valenciaport’s commitment to be at the side of the customer, the exporter and the logistics operators working in the Valencian docks. Today, Chao held meetings with Borja Herrero (Raminatrans-China) and Regino Serrano (ICEX-Shanghai). However, on her arrival at this important event, she was received by senior CSP executives, including Qin Long, Deputy CEO of CSP Spain; Zheng Yijun, head of CSP Bilbao; and Miguel Marín, Sales and Marketing Manager of CSP Spain-Valencia.

COSCO – the main concessionaire of the Port of València – has provided Valenciaport with a work and exhibition area where a stand managed by PAV sales agents has been installed.

Valenciaport: A strategic Asian enclave in the Mediterranean

The presence of the Valencian ports in Shanghai strengthens and broadens Valenciaport’s relationship with China in a decisive forum for world trade and also consolidates its position as a strategic enclave for the Asian market, as it has connections with more than 80 Chinese ports. In this sense, Valenciaport is the main Spanish port for moving goods from China due to its central position in the Mediterranean and its internal connectivity, which serves a hinterland that includes – in addition to the Valencian Community – Madrid, Murcia, Andalusia and Aragon, among other regions.

Along these lines, the PAV is promoting in China that the three Valencian ports have commercial connections with more than 1,000 ports in 168 different countries and that it operates with almost a hundred regular lines managed by 35 different shipping companies. The ‘CIIE Shanghai’ is organised by the Ministry of Commerce of China and is held in the National Exhibition and Convention Centre of the city with the presence of more than 1,500 companies from 154 countries. The main objective of the event is to become a platform for open international cooperation to promote economic globalisation.
