The data can be checked on the Valenciaport website or on the website of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition.

The Port of València has installed two new environmental control booths and another is planned for the Port of Sagunto.

Offering transparent and up-to-date information is one of the objectives of Valenciaport, as institutions such as ARUP University emphasise.

On the Valenciaport website, the air quality of the environmental control booth located on the esplanade of the old Turia riverbed, one of the two new stations installed by the Port of Valencia, can now be checked in real time. These installations, which form part of the Green C Ports project, analyse, in addition to air quality, the noise in the port installations and the meteorological conditions with the aim of finding out the data on emissions from port activity and to continue with the continuous improvement in environmental matters.

Specifically, this cabin, which is connected to the monitoring network of the Generalitat Valenciana of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition, analyses five atmospheric pollutants included in European regulations: Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Particles smaller than 10 microns (PM10), Carbon Monoxide (CO), and Ozone (03). Thus, the data from the cabin located in the Muelle de Poniente show that the air quality between 1 March and 12 April was “excellent” on 34 of the days and “good” on 9 of them.
In addition to these two new cabins and another to be located in the Port of Sagunto, which will add all its data to the website in the next few days, Valenciaport has also installed seven new environmental sensors to complement the current equipment. The aim of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) is to reinforce its commitment to sustainability by means of innovative solutions which allow aspects such as air quality to be analysed, and to offer information to the port community and residents of the Port in an active and regular manner.

In this sense, these actions form part of the PAV’s commitment, recognised by institutions such as ARUP University, which value the commitment to transparency and accessible public information on Valenciaport’s activity. Thus, for years, Valenciaport has been providing data on traffic, freight rates, stopover time indicators for the ships that operate, the impact it generates in terms of employment and added value, and measurements on water and air, among others.

To achieve this objective, the PAV has digital tools to improve the service to the port community, to promote sustainability through actions aimed at respecting the environment and to favour the city-port relationship and integration. A commitment to new technologies that position Valenciaport as the most intelligent port in Spain according to a report published in the civil engineering magazine CEDEX.
