The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has presented at the Transport Logistic Fair held in Munich its logistics offer and its catalogue of services as Europe’s main container port in the Mediterranean and the best connected precinct according to data from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
The head of Commercial and Business Development of the PAV, Mar Chao, has led the delegation of Valenciaport in this event that returns to host the German city after four years of stoppage due to the pandemic and in the last edition, in 2019, managed to bring together 2,374 exhibitors from 63 countries and more than 64,000 visitors from around the world of 125 nationalities.
Valenciaport’s area of influence accounts for 55% of Spain’s GDP, a hinterland where 60% of Spanish exporting companies are located. The Valencian exhibition centre handles 40% of the import/export activity that enters or leaves by sea.
At the Transport Logistic fair, the PAV’s commercial and infrastructure team held working meetings with clients and shipping companies to strengthen relations with the business and logistics sector. The aim of Valenciaport’s presence at these events is to maintain its leadership as a logistics hub in the Mediterranean and a port of entry for goods in Europe. The Port of Valencia is committed to intermodality and its excellent maritime connectivity to facilitate the exchange of goods and services for companies in its hinterland.
In 2022, Valenciaport was the fourth container port in Europe, with more than 5 million TEU, after Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg, and the first European enclosure in the Mediterranean.
Valenciaport thus continues with its promotional activity at the main world events in the logistics, port and tourism sector to present the innovations and services of the Valencian ports to its customers and specifiers.
