In recent years, the growth of countries such as Israel, Ukraine, Lithuania, Turkey, Maldives and Liberia stand out

We are no longer surprised to be sitting in a restaurant in New York and tasting a good Utiel-Requena wine, a Monastrell red wine from the Alicante DO in Shanghai or a Ribera del Duero in Cali. But also, a wine from Yecla or Jumilla in the Guadeloupe Islands, a DO Valencia from the paradisiacal Maldives or a Manchego wine from the heart of Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Spanish wine is recognised all over the world and its prestige is reaching more and more places. And the excellent work of the wineries finds its perfect ally in the Port of Valencia so that a white wine from Rueda can be drunk in Sydney, a red from Rioja can be bought in a shop in New Caledonia and a DO Cariñena in a luxurious restaurant in the United Arab Emirates. Spanish wines cross borders and from the docks of the València port area they find a destination in 130 countries, 70% of the world. The possibility of accessing new markets increases the sales of Spanish bottled wine, which is increasingly recognised and accessible everywhere.

In this objective of extending the Spain Brand through wines in world markets, producers can count on the ease with which Valenciaport can help them to reach a successful destination. According to data from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Port of Valencia is the fourth best-connected port in Europe and the twentieth best-connected in the world.  A fact that favours the exporting companies in its area of influence to sell their products and to reach some of the 1,000 ports in 168 different countries with which it has commercial relations. A key global market for Spanish producers who sell their goods at a time marked by the pandemic and economic uncertainty. An essential factor for hundreds of wineries to continue growing, generating wealth and creating jobs.
