The meeting “Informing in times of Covid-19” will be telematic, will be held on Wednesday 30 September and can be followed through social networks

Radio, television and written press professionals working in Spain, France, Belgium and Portugal will participate

This initiative is part of Valenciaport’s campaign to highlight the work of society during the Covid-19 pandemic within the framework of the exhibition Imágenes Imborrables

This exhibition has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of more than 1,000 people who have sent 1,900 photographs to Valenciaport, all of which are first-hand accounts of the coronavirus crisis

València, September 24th, 2020.- The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has organised a digital meeting with media professionals from different fields to explain their professional experiences in the times of the Covid-19. The conference will take place next Wednesday 30 September at 11.00 am online and it will be possible to follow and participate through social networks. This telematic conference, with the collaboration of À Punt Mèdia, is open to communication professionals and journalism students.

Visions of media professionals working in press, television and radio who will relate their work and personal experience during the crisis generated by the Coronavirus pandemic and on the current and future economic and social situation marked by the Covid-19. In addition, it will serve to know first hand how this pandemic has been experienced from other countries as professionals who are working abroad and international media correspondents who have experienced this situation in our country will participate.

Specifically, professionals from RTVE, La Sexta, Telecinco, EFE, Europa Press, Asociación de Periodistas de Galicia, Euronews, SER, À Punt, Levante, Las Provincias, Diario del Puerto and La Gaceta del Turismo, among others, will take part in the meeting. The webinar will be presented and moderated by the journalists from À Punt, Vicent García Devis and Pau Ivars.

The situation of global alarm generated by the Coronavirus has opened many questions and scenarios to be analysed and debated in the media, which is a channel for information on the pandemic and which has had to carry out its work in exceptional working conditions such as social distance, teleworking or the risk of contagion. During this pandemic, the role played by the media in conveying truthful and useful information to public opinion and their work as a parapet for fake news is fundamental. In this meeting, the representatives of the media will debate these situations that have marked their daily lives from a personal and professional point of view.

Valenciaport’s thanks to society

This digital meeting of communication professionals is part of Valenciaport’s commitment to promoting the city-port relationship and, specifically, to highlighting society’s ability to meet the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, during this pandemic, the PAV has organised the campaign #APieDelCañon to recognise the work of the professionals of the logistics and port community who have made it possible for the logistics chain not to stop and for the population not to be left without supplies.

Valenciaport has also promoted the homage exhibition Imágenes Imborrables (Unforgettable Images), which can be visited until the 12th October in the Clock Building of the Port of Valencia, and which shows 200 physical photographs, more than 1,900 of which will be projected on screens and an audiovisual space of videos with testimonies recorded by the teams of À Punt Mèdia.
