Valencia, May 10, 2026 – The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has put out to bid the renovation work on the area surrounding the Clock Building, a project that will advance the final development of this space and improve its integration with La Marina and the city.

The project has a budget of 1,817,929 euros (excluding VAT), funded entirely by the APV, and will cover an area of 12,861 square meters, of which 1,756 square meters will be landscaped areas. The project aims to enhance the surroundings of the Clock Building, designated a Site of Local Significance, and transform this space into a more welcoming area for the use and enjoyment of the public.

The project, which is scheduled to take nine months to complete, includes the creation of landscaped areas, pergolas, shaded areas, and new gathering spaces, as well as the installation of street furniture. In addition, the project includes paving designed to organize pedestrian routes and improve accessibility in the area.

More space for pedestrians and cyclists

The project, which is scheduled to begin at the end of the year, also calls for preserving the existing trees and upgrading the lighting system, with the aim of improving energy efficiency and the environmental quality of the area at night. In addition, the project will reduce the size of the current roundabout to create more space for pedestrians and cyclists.

The project area also includes the site of the former Casa de la Copa, whose demolition will allow for the landscape integration of the entire plaza adjacent to the Clock Building.

Port-City Integration

This project is part of the effort to integrate the former harbour basin of the Port of Valencia with the city and will help strengthen the role of the area around the Clock Building as a gathering place, a hub for community activities, and a link to La Marina. With the bidding process for these projects, Valenciaport is moving forward with the improvement of a strategic location for the port-city connection, through a project aimed at reorganizing public spaces, creating new green areas, and promoting pedestrian and bicycle routes.
