The General Director of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), Francesc Sánchez; and the director of Noatum Container Terminal Valencia (Noatum CTV) have received from the hands of Jorge Aldegunde, general manager of the Lloyd’s Register Spain Group, the certification of the compliance of both companies with the UNE-ISO 50001 standard of energy efficiency management systems. This standard establishes the management guidelines, criteria, objectives and indicators that the big companies that obtain this recognition are self-demanding in environmental matters.

With this certification, Noatum CTV and the PAV guarantee that they comply with all the legal provisions on energy by controlling their energy sources and reducing direct and indirect greenhouse effect emissions, one of the main causes of climate change. In addition, they undertake annual reviews of their results and management systems, when they could choose to carry out these measurements every four years; the legal minimum that the law requires for companies such as the PAV and Noatum CTV.

In the act of delivering the certifications, the CEO of Lloyd’s Group has given the congratulations and stated “be delighted to deliver this certificate to two companies such as Noatum and Valenciaport, who have opted for certification in the search for energy efficiency”. In addition, he stressed that in both cases, “the certificate has been achieved through process management”.

For his part, Francesc Sánchez, expressed his satisfaction at receiving the certificate and recalled “the historic commitment of the PAV for the care of the environment and the moral obligation it has to return to future generations an environment equal to or better than the one we have found each other.” In this sense, he stressed that with this accreditation, the PAV goes one step further in its philosophy of work and “highlights the existing commitment.” The General Director of the PAV has congratulated Noatum and stressed that both companies “are aligned in the environmental management policy”.

Gustavo Ferrer, director of Noatum Container Terminal Valencia has highlighted “the historical concern of Noatum for the care of the environment and for the reduction of the environmental impact” and in this sense has emphasized its close collaboration with the PAV in different projects. On the other hand, he stressed that the certificate is a big step for Noatum, but we must continue working. Finally, he wanted to thank the work of all the teams, “which have made it possible to receive this accreditation”.
