The V Awards for Professional Excellence have been presented to the winners: Florida Universitaria, Viktor E. Frankl, CV Robotic Surgery and Valenciaport

The awards ceremony took place in the Clock Building of the Port Authority of Valencia, where the night of the Valencian professions was held

The 5th Awards for Professional Excellence experienced their traditional start yesterday afternoon with the awards ceremony, held, as always, in the Clock Building of the Port Authority of Valencia. Florida Universitaria, Viktor E. Frankl, Cirugía robotica CV and Valenciaport were the protagonists of a night whose aim is to highlight the work of Valencian professionals. Once again this year, if possible, in the face of the complicated panorama presented by the health crisis derived from the pandemic.

In this 5th edition, the awards ceremony was held under strict security measures against COVID-19, bringing together in the same space personalities from civil society, authorities and professional associations, who praised the continuity and importance of this type of initiative.  The members of the jury also attended the event, which this year was made up of: the Regional Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi España, the regional director of Cadena SER in the Valencia Region, Bernardo Guzmán, the vice-president of the Association of Textile Businesses of the Region (Ateval) and president of the Spanish Intertextile Council, Càndid Penalba, and the president of EDEM Business School, Hortensia Roig.

This year, in addition, there were category leaders, companies that are references in professional excellence, which reinforce and represent the values of each of the categories of the Awards. The event was attended by the director of Tirant Lo Blanch, Salvador Vives, – leader of the Training and Employment category; the head of External Relations and CSR of Vicky Foods, José Vicente Candell – Equality and CSR; the representative of Idai Nature, Rosario Montaner – Innovation and Research; and finally, the institutional director of the Eastern Territory of Banco Sabadell, Luis Serra – as leader of the Internationalisation category.

They were responsible for presenting the awards in the four categories that make up these prizes. In the Training and Employment category, the award was collected by the Director of Florida Universitaria, Enrique García; in the Internationalisation category, the President of Valenciaport, Aurelio Martínez, took the stage; in the Equality and CSR category, José Luis Guinot, President of Viktor E. Frankl, received the award; and finally, the Innovation and Research category was presented to Dr. Cristóbal Zaragozá, representing the Grupo de Innovación e Investigación en Cirugía Robótica de la CV.

Aurelio Martínez thanked Unión Profesional for this award on behalf of the whole port community which in recent months “has been able to verify the essential role that ports and transport have played in guaranteeing the basic necessities to supply our markets”.

The Government delegate, Gloria Calero, gave a speech at the end of the event and before the closing ceremony. The President of the Professional Union of Valencia, Auxiliadora Borja, then gave a few words to end the ceremony. “At Unión Profesional we believe that it is necessary to highlight the value of Valencian professionals. This recognition contributes to the defence of good practice, of professional ethics, which is pursued by our professional associations”, said the President. She also congratulated the winners, who undoubtedly “deserve this prize for everything it represents and which you bring together: Professional Excellence”, concluded Borja.
