The Port Authority of Valencia, PAV, has adhered to the Local Pact for Innovation promoted by the City of Valencia. A pact that will promote the city transformation and improvement through innovation.

At the signing of the pact, held on Monday in Las Naves building in Valencia, representatives of all the member organizations have participated. On the part of Port Authority of Valencia, its president, Aurelio Martinez, signed the commitment.

At the end of the event, the mayor of the Valencian capital, Joan Ribó said that “the development of innovation is very important for Valencia; it is a key element on which we base many of the objectives that must be the engine of this city. Without innovation, without development, it is impossible to advance in this global world, and what we want is our city to make progress”. This pact, promoted by the City of Valencia, seals the common commitment of the parties that subscribe to promote innovation as a tool for social transformation at the service of everyone.

Ribó stressed the collaborative dimension of this pact, “with the involvement of all sectors: universities, companies, large institutions such as the Port, City Council, Generalitat…, we must do it all together. At the moment we have thousands of young people who are outside of Spain developing a potential that is not being profitable here, which is where they would want to be. We have to build the structures to be able to go forward, to work for Valencia to develop its potential in this direction and what we have to do is articulate, coordinate and promote it. ”

In addition to the Port Authority of Valencia, besides the Generalitat and the City of Valencia, the five universities of the province of Valencia, ESIC and Florida Universitaria have signed the pact; the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV), Feria Valencia, the Higher Council of Scientific Research (CSIC) of the Valencian Community, the Network of Valencian Universities for the Promotion of R + I (RUVID), the Network of Technological Institutes of the Region of Valencia (REDIT), the European Center for Innovative Enterprises (CEEI) and a further ten associations of research and educational nature.
