València, March 1st, 2022.- The ambassador of the Czech Republic in Spain, Ivan Jančárek, has led the visit of a delegation from the Czech country to the facilities of the Port of Valencia to learn about the operation and functioning of the Valencian precinct and the services it offers to the port community. During the meeting held with the president of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Aurelio Martínez, he learned about the projects being developed in the Port of Valencia within the framework of the Valenciaport 2030 objective, zero emissions and the new infrastructures being carried out by the APV to improve the competitiveness of the port area.

Also present in the delegation were the first secretary of the Embassy, Imrich Klimet, and the manager of the Bohemia Fair, Josef Dobrý. At the meeting, the importance of maritime transport during the COVID-19 pandemic and the recovery of traffic in the last year were explained. In the case of Valenciaport, in the 2021 financial year, 5.6 million TEUs (standard 20-foot container) and 85 million tonnes have been exceeded, figures that improve activity with respect to 2020 and 2019, the latter being a pre-pandemic year.

In recent months, Valenciaport has been visited by various institutional representatives from European, African and Latin American countries to get to know the infrastructures and services of the fourth European port in the Mediterranean and 27th worldwide. A hub port where goods and containers for export, import and transhipment are operated and which is carrying out strategic actions in the fight against climate change or digitalisation which are a benchmark in the port system.
