A delegation of CCOO-PV, led by the general secretary, Ana García, has analysed with the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) the works that are being carried out in the Sagunto area

València, February 28th, 2022.- The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) and the trade union Comisiones Obreras del País Valencià, CCOO-PV, have highlighted the work being carried out in the Port of Sagunto to promote rail connectivity within the port area and the connection with the Cantabrian and Mediterranean corridor. The general secretary of the CCOO-PV confederation, Ana García, and the president of the PAV, Aurelio Martínez, highlighted the importance of this infrastructure for the development of the Camp de Morvedre region.

During the meeting, the PAV explained the projects that are being carried out to boost the relationship between the railway and the port. In the case of Sagunto, actions are being carried out to improve the inner network, the access to the enclosure or the improvement of the Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza line. In this sense, Ana García indicated that “these works are important for the development of the Camp de Morvedre with the connection with Parc Sagunt I and II and the Cantabrian corridor”. For his part, Aurelio Martínez explained that “we are investing in internal infrastructures to adapt the ports of Sagunto and Valencia to the rail network and connections at a national level, or improving the Valencia-Teruel-Zaragoza line. The aim is to boost the rail corridors and to increase the freight arriving or leaving the port to the train”.

Both leaders met at the headquarters of Valenciaport accompanied – on the trade union side – by the state secretary general of the sea, Pedro Suárez; the secretary general of Employment and Institutional Policy, Juan Carlos Gallart; the secretary general of the Federation, Pilar de Vera; the secretary general of the Camp de Morvedre, Sergio Villalba; and the coordinator of the sea sector, Franjo Martínez. And on behalf of the PAV, the general director, Francesc Sánchez; the deputy assistant director of the presidency, Manuel Guerra; and the head of Operations, Rubén Marín, were present.
