The Portuguese ambassador in Spain, João Mira, has seen first-hand the operation and functioning of the Port of Valencia.

The Portuguese delegation showed special interest in the APV’s contract and award management systems.

València, September 10th, 2021.- The Portuguese ambassador in Spain, João Mira, led a delegation from Portugal to visit the Port of Valencia to learn about the operation and functioning of the Valencian port and the services it offers to the port community. During the meeting with the president of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Aurelio Martínez, he explained the projects that are being developed in the Port of València within the framework of the Valenciaport 2030 objective, zero emissions and the new infrastructures that the APV is carrying out to improve the competitiveness of the port area.

The delegation also included representatives of AICEP Global Parques, which manages the industrial and logistics zone of the Port of Sines, the main Portuguese site for the movement of goods and containers, who showed special interest in the systems for managing contracts and contracts awarded by the APV for the implementation of projects such as the ZAL and other logistics services.

This visit is part of the Valencian Economy Night organised by the Valencia Chamber of Commerce. Thus, together with the ambassador, the Consul General of Portugal in Barcelona, Ana Coelho, the vice-president of AICEP Global Parques, Isabel Cardoso, the director of AICEP, Gonçalo Eiras, the administrator of AICEP, Philomène Días, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia, José Vicente Morata and the coordinator of the International Department of the Chamber, Vicente Mompó, took part in this tour. The delegation toured the facilities and terminals of the Port of Valencia under the guidance of the Deputy Assistant Director of the Presidency of the APV, Manuel Guerra.
