València, January 27th, 2022.- Mafalda and his friends say goodbye to València this weekend. The exhibition ‘Quino. Much more than Mafalda’ organised by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) can be visited until Sunday 30 January between 11.00 and 18.00 hours in the Clock Building of the Port of València. This free exhibition has already been visited by more than 20,000 people. A great success that reflects Valenciaport’s commitment to a cultural commitment so that all Valencians can enjoy it.

Within the framework of this exhibition, Valenciaport and the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humour of the University of Alcalá de Henares have organised a round table on Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, Quino. This webinar aims, like the exhibition at the Clock Building, to pay tribute to and learn more about the production and the person behind Quino. A shy and wise man, a reference for the world of graphic humour, but, above all, a master of life, a vindicator of compassion and the right to respect and dignity for all people. The round table will take place this afternoon at 19.00 hours via streaming through the website of the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humour and its social networks. The activity will include the participation of Julio Rey, cartoonist and director of the graphic area of the IQH; Julieta Colombo Marrón, Quino’s representative for Spain and America; Adriana Mosquera “Nani”, cartoonist; and Juan García, executive secretary of the IQH, who will moderate the session.

What to see in the Mafalda exhibition?

The Mafalda exhibition has more than 200 cartoons, advertising posters, audiovisuals and publications in several languages that show the international projection of Quino’s work. The exhibition has a space dedicated to activities and workshops so that children can interact with the characters of the Argentinian cartoonist. In this way, the APV reinforces its commitment to the city and invites it to carry out actions that promote its culture and develop its critical spirit.

In addition, Valenciaport has organised a competition via Instagram for the public who come to the exhibition to upload an image of their visit with the hashtag #MiMafalda or #LaMeuaMafalda, tagging @Valenciaport. To date, more than 200 people have already taken part and could be one of the three winners who will receive the “Everything Mafalda” book as a prize.
