After its success in Alcalá de Henares, Mafalda now has a holiday destination and will move to Gandía in August.

The exhibition organised by Valenciaport has been seen by more than 41,500 people in addition to the visitors who came to see it in Valencia and Alcalá de Henares.

The Port Authority of Valencia reinforces its commitment to culture and its approach to all citizens through actions such as this one.

To speak of the exhibition “Quino. Mafalda and much more” is to talk about success. After sweeping València, the exhibition has reached 16,000 visitors in Alcalá de Henares, becoming the most visited exhibition of Valenciaport and achieving more than 41,500 visitors between the destinations where it has been exhibited, in the Clock Building of the Port of València and in the Oidor Chapel of the city of Madrid. Therefore, with the intention of continuing to serve the public and encourage its critical spirit, Mafalda will travel to Gandía with the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) in August so that citizens and tourists can continue to learn from her.

The work of an artist is often a reflection of the concerns of its creator. The little girl with a red ribbon on her head, defender of human rights and ahead of her time, has become an icon and a role model for many children, young people and adults.

However, Mafalda would not be possible without Quino, who not only gave her shape but also managed to make a whole country and part of the world aware of the importance of fighting for social equality. Quino is the great artist overshadowed by his great work. However, his artistic production is not limited to Mafalda and he developed a multitude of projects of enormous quality.

What to see in the Mafalda exhibition?

The Mafalda exhibition has more than 200 cartoons, advertising posters, audiovisuals and publications in several languages that show the international projection of Quino’s work. The exhibition has a space dedicated to activities and workshops so that children can interact with the characters of the Argentinian cartoonist.

It can be visited completely free of charge, as its aim is to promote culture through interactive actions that awaken the interest of the port residents and other cities that have shown their interest in hosting the exhibition of this iconic cartoon character.

The PAV ships from Valencia to multiple destinations

Valenciaport is committed to culture as a sign of identity and commitment to citizens, bringing exhibitions of great references in humour not only to Valencians but to all Spaniards.

Proof of this is the transfer of the Mafalda exhibition to Alcalá de Henares or the Peridis exhibition to Sagunto. A fact which society is grateful for, as the number of visitors to the exhibitions corroborates the interest and is a symbol of the link which has been established between the port and the citizens.
