Valenciaport has received this morning the visit of a delegation formed by representatives of Mitsubishi Electric and executives of Arola.

The delegation, headed by Masataka Yamaguchi, head of Strategic Operations, Masanori Shinozaki, Equipment and Environment manager, Erika Nishimura, Strategic Operation coordinator and Minoru Kawaguchi, director of Logistics Strategy of Mitsubishi Electric Europe respectively, has arrived accompanied by Arola´s general director, Carlos Arola, the corporate manager, Ramón Aparicio and the Business Development manager, Roger Pallares.

The meeting, which purpose has been to publicize the security and control systems for goods developed by the Port of Valencia, has been attended by Manuel Guerra, Commercial Director and Business Development of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), and Emilio Aliaga, director of the Guarantee Mark. During his presentation, Emilio Aliaga highlighted the fundamental role that the Guarantee Mark fulfils and that allows the Port of Valencia to reach its objectives and the quality standards set. In addition, Aliaga has emphasized that this system is one of the most relevant tools in terms of innovation, and has been implemented in other ports in countries such as Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Perú.

Finally, the delegation has moved to the APM terminal of the Port of Valencia in which Miguel Marín, comercial director, accompanied by Mariko Yasumitsu, deputy director, have exposed the operation of the site and has shown the different security and control systems performed.

Traffic with Japan

At the end of 2016, Valenciaport channeled a total of 184.608 tonnes of goods with Japan. Of these, 101.091 tonnes were destined for export, 60.874 tonnes where imported and 22.643 tonnes were in transit. Regarding container traffic, Japan has been the origin/ destination of 13.464 TEUs handled by Valenciaport during 2016. Of these, 8.854 were for export, 2.863 for import and 1.747 were moved in transit.

By ports, stands out the movements with Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Aichi and Kobe enclosures.
