International experts analyse the plans and needs of the Mediterranean ports in Valencia

Mediterranean Ports and Shipping 2021 includes two days of conference and an area for exhibitors where 300 professionals from the logistics and port sector from all over Europe will meet

This morning a delegation of participants in the congress visited the facilities of the Port of Valencia

The event facilitates exchanges between the port community of Valencia and foreign investors

València, October 5th, 2021.- A delegation of more than 50 participants of the Mediterranean Ports and Shipping 2021 conference, accompanied by representatives of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) and different companies operating in the port, toured the facilities of the Port of Valencia this morning to see first-hand the activity and the different terminals of the port area.

This visit is part of the professional meeting Mediterranean Ports and Shipping 2021 which is being held in Valencia until 7 October and which brings together 300 international experts from the port and logistics system, together with potential investors, to discuss the plans and needs of the sector, at a crucial time for the maritime market after a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manuel García, head of Business Intelligence of the PAV, Francesca Antonelli, head of Marketing and Brand Management of the PAV, attended the visit. Sven Valentín, director of the MSC VLC terminal, Miguel Marín, commercial director of the COSCO terminal and Antonio Crespo, director of Valencia Terminal Europa also participated in the visit.

The conference, which will be inaugurated tomorrow, Wednesday, by the Councillor for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi España, the Director of Operations of Puertos del Estado, Mar Chao, the director of Transport Event, Rory James Dyole, and the President of the PAV, Aurelio Martínez, has two days of conferences by 30 speakers who will focus on the needs and challenges for the transport and logistics sector in the Mediterranean area and an exhibitor area to learn about the latest developments in the sector. The event, which is being held at the Westin Hotel, will feature six conferences that will address the economic and market outlook for maritime trade in the Mediterranean, sustainable port development, port infrastructure planning, the behaviour of supply and demand in the global movement of goods, smart port projects and the role of the motorways of the sea, among others.

Among the speakers are representatives of shipping companies such as COSCO or MSC Spain, companies such as Toyota or Siemens, executives from the ports of Valencia, Barcelona or State ports, or from the federation of European port companies and terminals, FEPORT.
