The Port Authority of Valencia manages one of the leading ports in Europe and its activity allows the creation of 40,000 jobs.

GENERALI has been awarded the collective health insurance for the 450 employees of Valenciaport, the Port Authority of Valencia. The agreement has a duration of two years, with up to three years of extension. It also offers the possibility of extending the cover to their first-degree relatives, as well as to retired workers, and is applicable to health care and reimbursement of expenses.

Valenciaport is the commercial brand under which the state-owned ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía, all three managed by the APV, work. It is the leading port in the Mediterranean in goods per container, has a dynamic area of influence – generating more than 40,000 direct and indirect jobs – and connections with 1,000 ports in the world.

GENERALI’s group health insurance will offer extensive coverage to Valenciaport employees, including free choice of specialist doctors, dental insurance, primary and travel assistance with worldwide coverage, as well as preventive medicine. Among other advantages, this insurance provides assistance services whenever the insured need it, without any disbursement and in an unlimited way, access to the best medical professionals in each city, as well as tax advantages for the company and the employees.

In the words of Jorge García, Chief Sales and Distribution Officer: “GENERALI is proud to be awarded the group health insurance for the employees and their families of the Port Authority of Valencia, which plays a strategic role in the economy of the Spanish Mediterranean. Health has become a clear priority for the population, which adds to the fact that companies are increasingly aware of the benefits that health insurance brings to their staff. At GENERALI, we have a wide range of products and services that allow us to create a value proposition that can be customised to the needs of each company, as demonstrated by this award”.

GENERALI has a great expertise in Personal Risk Insurance and in Business Insurance and stands out as an innovative company in the use of new technologies, both in the service to the insured (telemedicine and video consultation) and in the incorporation of advanced medical coverage, as well as a wide range of high quality medical services throughout the country.

In 2020, a complicated year due to the effects of the pandemic, GENERALI’s Health insurance was positioned as one of the most highly valued insurance policies in Spain according to the OCU, based on factors such as customer service – both face-to-face, telephone and online – clarity and transparency, price, as well as service, administrative procedures and authorisation of treatments and medical tests.

The Health branch is one of the main branches for GENERALI’s strategy, which has expanded its offer with original proposals such as MiSalud Esencial, a Health insurance with national coverage that offers general medicine, specialists and diagnostic tests, aimed primarily at a customer for whom healthcare is a one-off and who is looking for quality care with quick access at an extremely attractive cost.
