In the coming weeks, new toys will be delivered to different schools in the area

València, 22nd November 2021.- Aportem-Puerto Solidario Valencia has started the school year with a campaign to support the most vulnerable families in six schools around the Port of Valencia. The campaign at the beginning of the school year is the most intense of all those developed by the institution to continue working on inclusion and equal opportunities, especially focused on children at risk of social exclusion. Thus, Aportem has collaborated with breakfasts and snacks for 205 children, has supplied COVID prevention material to 607 children and has provided 437 children with new sports clothing in the requested sizes.

The most notable aspect of the campaign for the start of the school year was the traditional delivery of school materials, which benefited 961 children in the Maritime District area. In 2021, Aportem – Port Solidarity Valencia plans to carry out a final campaign of solidarity collaboration with the Port of Valencia. Before the end of the year, it will organise the delivery of toys to different schools in the area, thus ensuring that a greater number of children in the Maritime District can receive these toys, which are always new and educational, and in no case warlike or sexist.

The Board of Directors and the Aportem Actions Commission analysed this campaign, as well as reviewing the intense current affairs of the association, approving the budgets for 2022 and convening the electoral assembly. Thus, the working meetings approved the budget for 2022, which will have to be endorsed by the next general assembly. Along with this meeting of Aportem’s highest governing body, the electoral general assembly has also been convened, both to be held on 14 December, in order to renew the Board of Directors after the end of the four-year period of a maximum of eight years provided for in the statutes.

Aportem – Port Solidarity Valencia, is a totally private association, made up of associations, institutions, companies and individuals linked to the Valencian port sector. Its action is centred above all on the environment of the Port of Valencia, with special attention to the care of the environment and children at risk of social exclusion.
