The Thai representatives, headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Kobchai Sungsitthisawad and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the public company Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, showed special interest in the rail connections of the terminals.

They also learned about the projects being developed by Valenciaport in areas such as sustainability, digitalisation and new infrastructures.

A government delegation from Thailand has visited the facilities of the Port of Valencia. The delegation, headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Kobchai Sungsitthisawad and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, a public company responsible for the development of industrial and logistics land in the Asian country, was made up of around twenty institutional representatives. Francesca Antonelli, head of Marketing and Brand Management of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) explained the projects that Valenciaport is developing in sustainability, digitalisation and new infrastructures.

The delegation from the Asian country has shown special interest in the actions being carried out by Valenciaport in rail-port connectivity, both its connections with its hinterland and the internal network of the Port of Valencia. The visit included a tour of the Contradique Sur and the PAV offices as well as several stops at strategic points of the Valencian port facilities.

In the first half of the year, trade relations between Valenciaport and Thailand amounted to 137,000 tonnes of goods, 50% of which were destined for import, 30% for export and the rest for transhipment. The main products destined for Thailand are paper and pulp, followed by feed and fodder and construction materials.

In recent months, Valenciaport has been visited by various institutional representatives from European, African and Latin American countries to get to know the infrastructures and services of the fourth European port in the Mediterranean. A hub port where goods and containers for export, import and transhipment are operated and which is carrying out strategic actions in the fight against climate change or digitalisation which are a benchmark in the port system.
