• The new layout of the south gate will go into effect on June 15
  • Lanes are reorganized based on vehicle type and operation to facilitate a more orderly exit
  • One lane features an automatic exit for light vehicles with valid port ID cards

Valencia, June 11, 2026Valenciaport has implemented a new configuration for the exit lanes at the southern gate of the Port of Valencia, with the aim of improving traffic flow at this location and organizing exit traffic based on the type of transport and operation. This new layout will take effect on June 15.

The new layout makes it easier to distinguish between lanes designated for light vehicles, flatbed trucks, trucks with empty containers, and trucks carrying cargo, thereby facilitating smoother traffic flow and better accommodating the operational needs of each vehicle.

With this reorganization, two lanes have been designated for light vehicles and flatbed trucks (S1 and S8). In the case of lane S8, light vehicles use an access control system with a port ID card reader, allowing the barrier to lift automatically and enabling a faster exit.

In addition, there is another lane (S2) reserved exclusively for empty trucks (such as empty containers, car carriers without vehicles, empty tankers, etc.), while lane S3 remains in use for the manual exit of loaded trucks, as before.

The automated lanes for cargo trucks remain the same four as before (S4, S5, S6, and S7). In this way, Valenciaport maintains the automated systems already in operation for this type of traffic while further specializing the remaining lanes to improve the management of vehicle departures. This initiative is part of the operational improvement measures implemented by Valenciaport to optimize internal mobility within the port complex, facilitate the work of carriers and port users, and contribute to more efficient management of entry and exit points at the Port of Valencia.
