​Valenciaport handled a total of 67,019,770 tonnes in 2014, representing the facility’s highest ever figures, and bringing with it a 3.09% increase compared with the previous year.

In addition, import-export throughput of general cargo rose by 8.61% over 2013. A breakdown of these figures shows a 10.49% rise in the exports of general cargo to 12,393,159 tonnes, boosted by buoyant traffic results to Italy (+53.12%), Algeria (+28.54%), and the USA (+26.60%). Imports also went up by 5.29% to 6,665,543 tonnes, as a result of increased traffic from China (+2.54%), Italy (+24.08%), the USA (+13.26%) and Turkey (+8.92%). Conversely, transit throughput fell by 3.67%.

Increases incontainer traffic continued, with the three ports managed by the Port Authority of Valencia (Valencia, Sagunto and Gandia) handling a total of 4,441,949 TEUs, which represented an increase of 2.64% and consolidated growth in this category. This rise was basically due to stronger import-export traffic of full containers (+7.35%).
