València, 24 October 2024.-Valenciaport as a tool at the service of the business fabric of Madrid. This has been the common thread of the business conference held today at the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, where the Port Authority of València (PAV) has presented its connectivity offer, its wide capacity and services to a hundred businessmen of the Spanish import/export sector.
The docks of Valenciaport are the most efficient option for maritime trade in the south of the European Union due to its geostrategic location between the Suez Canal and the Strait of Gibraltar. This fact positions the Port of València as a nexus of the main regular lines from America, the Mediterranean basin and East Asia.
For all these reasons, during the presentation of the conference, Ángel Asensio, President of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and a great connoisseur of the infrastructures and services of the Port of València, highlighted the role of the Valencian precinct for the Madrid economy: ‘València is a neuralgic port for us thanks to its impressive infrastructure and efficient services at the service of Madrid’s foreign trade. It is essential for trade to have a port like Valencia in its vocation as a world-class logistics hub’.
Next, Mar Chao, president of the PAV, gave a presentation of the commercial offer, connectivity and services of the ports of València, Sagunto and Gandia. Chao highlighted the work of the PAV in promoting efficient logistics that promotes decarbonisation by making use of multimodality. He also showed Valenciaport’s efforts to put innovative and efficient infrastructures at the service of businessmen, while highlighting Valenciaport’s commitment to the objective of advancing in the integration of the chain and information flows.
After the presentations, the hundred or so import/export businessmen gathered at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce were able to discuss their needs and resolve all their doubts with Valenciaport’s commercial team. Thus, Cristina Rodriguez, head of containers; Marta Alborch, head of customer experience; Jaime Escobar, head of Multimodal; Teresa García-Ibarra, head of RoRo; Francesca Antonelli, head of cruises; together with Rafael Romero from the commercial area and Chao herself have held working meetings with all of them with the aim of working on the adaptation of Valenciaport’s offer to the needs of the businessmen.
