The group was made up of 11 students who are being trained to become maritime captains in Italian ports

A delegation of the Italian Coast Guard has visited the Port of Valencia’s facilities to learn first-hand about the activity of the Valencian port area and the operation of the port system, especially the functions carried out by the Maritime Harbour Master’s Office. The visit is part of the instruction campaign for students of this Italian navy corps who are travelling on board merchant ships to interact and learn about life on board and the operation of these vessels.

The group was made up of 11 students who are being trained to become maritime captains in Italian ports and who were accompanied by Mario Pennisi from the Ravenna Maritime Captaincy, Lieutenant Commander and second in command of the Valencia Naval Command, Celso Martinez and Francesca Antonelli, head of Marketing and Cruises at the Valencia Port Authority (APV).

The members of the Italian Coast Guard have arrived on board the ro-ro ship Gran Bretaña of the Grimaldi company, which had previously made stops in the ports of Vigo, Southampton and Antwerp, and which will end its journey in Salerno.
