
From 17 to 19 September, the port of Valencia will become the epicenter of Europe for the transport of refrigerated products.
Valencia, 25 June 2019.- The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) continues to make progress in the preparations for the XI Cool Logistics Global, the main European fair for the logistics of refrigerated products to be held in Valencia from 17 to 19 September. During three days, Valenciaport will host the main actors of the scene logistics and will offer a meeting place in which the owners of the Perishable Cargo Regulations, professionals of the logistics and transportation and representatives of the shipping companies and port authorities will be able to discuss and evaluate on the key technologies and trends of the market for this sector.
The meeting will be inaugurated by Aurelio Martínez, president of the PAV, in an act that will be celebrated in the Building of the Clock of the port of Valencia. The provisional program of the meeting includes the first day a titled workshop “Fighting the garbage and maximizing the profitability” in the one that papers will realize as “Infotech and Biotech”, given by Alfred Cheung, founder of JC Food Republic; “Digitization, transformation and transparence in the chain of supply”, given by Mark Buhrl, president of Blockfarm; and different panels centred on energy saving with the new technologies or the impact on the chain of supply of the free buys of plastic, between others. The program of the 17th will conclude with a visit guided to the facilities of the port of Valencia in order to which delegates know first hand the port infrastructures to the service of cold logistics.
Finally, on the 19th Martin Dixon, the director and chief of products of investigation of Drewry, will speak on the tendencies of the transport of refreshed products; Robert Sappio, CEO of Seacubre, will analyze the state of the demand of refreshed containers; and Mar Chao, marketing manager and of business development of the PAV, will analyze the relation between Valenciaport and the port of Rotterdam in the transport of refreshed products, between other panels and conferences.
So far the presence of representatives of companies such as Maersk Lines, JC Food Republic, Drewry Group, OceanX, Kuehne + Nagel, Seacube Containers or Cool Logistics Resources, between others.
Refrigerated transport in Valenciaport
Valenciaport is currently the fourth port in Europe in container traffic after having surpassed Bremen at the end of the first quarter of the year. The port has more than 2,000 reefer connections as well as cold stores. Precisely, the last board of directors of the institution approved the change of ownership of Friopuerto that has been acquired by Agro Merchants Group.
