The “Clock Building” will host a photo and video exhibition

València, June 23rd, 2020.- The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) and À Punt Mèdia are preparing a major tribute and exercise of collective memory to show how the situation caused by the Covid-19 has forced society to readjust and acquire new habits.

À Punt Mèdia joins the exhibition that will be held in October in the Port of Valencia “Clock Building” with a series of videos with witnesses recorded by the Valencian public television teams during the Covid-19 crisis. Images that show the capacity of the human being to face a situation that has changed our routine and that shows the solidarity and the pain caused by the pandemic.

This initiative will include the videos of the witnesses that during the confinement we have been able to see in the news of À Punt, as well as the photographs that many people continue to send to Valenciaport and which show in an illustrative way how they are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. It will be a compilation of emotions and experiences from different points of view, with snapshots that reflect aspects such as the task of health personnel, teleworking, confinement, adaptation to de-escalation, etc.

The PAV has received more than 1,000 photographs to carry out the tribute exhibition and show society and the day-to-day adaptation to the health emergency situation in the form of images. The images will be selected by professional photographers: José Aleixandre, José Penalba, Alba García, Antonio Alcaraz, Eva Máñez, José Poveda and Tania Castro.

The photographs can be sent until 1 July to the e-mail address contravientoymarea@valenciaport.com.

In addition to the physical exhibition, the PAV is also organising a “virtual exhibition” that will include all the photographs, of which more than 500 can already be seen on the ValenciaPort website.

How to participate

Valenciaport wishes to generate the maximum possible citizen participation and has therefore established some very simple criteria so that all citizens who wish to participate and have taken pictures of this situation, either with their camera or with their mobile phone, can do so.

Specifically, to participate in this initiative / tribute it will be enough to send photographs that are original; that is, taken by the person who signs or sends them.

  1. Send the photographs to contravientoymarea@valenciaport.com in the natural size in which the image was captured (uncompressed, unless required by the capacity of the e-mail).
  2. Indicate the e-mail address, the title of the photograph and the full name of the author in order to indicate it in the exhibition of the Clock and the website.
  3. Sending the photographs implies authorising the Port Authority to use the images received for the exhibitions indicated (the virtual one on the website and the physical one in the “Clock Building”) and in other promotional media for the exhibitions in question.
