The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) took part in the LetExpo trade fair dedicated to logistics held in the Italian city of Verona

València, March 14th, 2023.- Valenciaport is committed to short sea shipping lines to accelerate decarbonisation, favour the energy transition and the fight against climate change. This boost to this type of traffic has been highlighted at the LetExpo Fair held last week in Verona (Italy).
Mar Chao, head of Commercial and Business Development of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) had a busy schedule at the Valenciaport stand at this international event aimed at the sustainable logistics sector. “In addition to being important for the decarbonisation of the industry, this type of traffic is also very competitive for companies and operators, favouring cost reduction and intermodality”, explained Mar Chao.
Valenciaport has 11 international services through the motorways of the sea, which link the Valencian precinct with 20 countries and 66 ports. It also has 10 ro-pax connections with the Balearic Islands. During 2022, ro-ro traffic reached 13 million tonnes, 0.64% more than in 2021. About car traffic, during 2022 it should be noted that 603,566 units were handled through the València and Sagunto docks, 22.25% more than in 2022.
The PAV also presented at this event the strategic projects it is carrying out in terms of sustainable infrastructures, such as investment in railways, with works in the València and Sagunto docks, solar plant projects and the ValenciaportPCS tool, strategic in the digital transformation.
Mar Chao also took part in a round table on logistics and the supply chain in Europe which was moderated by Andrea Giambruno, journalist of TgCom24 and Antonio Errigo, Deputy Director of the Association for Intermodal and Sustainable Logistics (ALIS). Alongside Mar Chao were Constantino Baldissara, Commercial, Logistics and Operations Director of the Grimaldi Group; Pino Musolino, President of Mar Tirreno Norte Central (ADPS); Athanasios V. Porfyris, President of Igoumenitsa Port; Lluís Paris of the Port Authority of Barcelona; and Bárbara Visentini, Executive of Visentini Trasporti Fluviomarittimi.
LetExpo -Logistics Eco Transport Trade Show, is the trade fair dedicated to logistics, transport and sustainable business services held in the Italian city of Verona. It is organised by ALIS in collaboration with Veronafiere, and aims to promote a culture that accompanies the industry in the transition towards more sustainable mobility and economy.
