The Viking Venus cruise ship has made its first call at the Cruise Dock 1 of the northern extension of the Port of València. The head of Commercial and Customers of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), Cristina Rodríguez and the captain of the ship, Rune Loekling, have made the usual exchange of metopa and the traditional “Socarrat”, the Valencian terracotta tile designed with maritime motifs that Valenciaport delivers the ships that dock for the first time in its facilities. At the ceremony, which was also attended by Miguel Marín from the shipping agent Pérez & Cía, the captain highlighted the quality and diversity of the cruise offer in the city of València and the operational agility of the Port of València.

The Viking Venus is the new ocean-going ship of the Viking company that arrived in València from an inaugural route that departed a few days ago with 500 passengers from the port of Valletta in Malta and also visited the Italian ports of Palermo and Cagliari. Viking Venus is the newest ship in Viking’s ocean-going fleet of identical sister ships. Viking’s ships have a gross tonnage of 47,800 tons, with 465 staterooms accommodating 930 guests; all staterooms have verandahs, Scandinavian design, airy public spaces and plenty of alfresco dining options.
