The Quality Mark celebrated last Thursday a new Quality Council session of the Port of Valencia. The meeting was chaired by Francesc Sánchez, General Manager of the Port Authority (PAV), and addressed the current workgroups and developments in the Brand System.

During the meeting, the good pace of adhesions to the Quality Mark was highlighted, which, as of the previous year, has increased by 17%. In this way, there are already 142 companies of the Port Community that support and are part of this recognized Quality System. The latest additions have been Vapor Suardiaz Mediterráneo S.A. and Transportes Quico S.L.

One of the issues addressed was the reduction -in a 23-minute average- of the inspection process at the Border Sanitary Warehouse Facilities (IFCSM). In this sense, the implanted improvements have allowed the container to be positioned more quickly in the dock for inspection. In addition, the incorporation of the Port of Valencia into the pilot program of the Customs One-stop Shop (VUA) project was reported and the VUA-Position Coordination Working Group was convened at a forthcoming session to analyze the details of the project and develop a work plan for its development.

In addition, the latest changes to the ValenciaportPCS system were announced following the entry into force of the new Union Customs Code (CAU), which, among other novelties, obliges maritime terminals to have the status of Temporary Storage Warehouse (ADT). Therefore, it should be indicated in the Delivery Orders for the IFCSM that the container will be “positioned for inspection in the IFCSM / PIF”.

Finally, it was agreed to call a meeting with railway operators, maritime and terminal agents, in order to disseminate, after the trial period, the use of the ValenciaportPCS Rail Transport Service application. Currently, 58% of the Rail Transport Orders use this service.
