This meeting will reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing administrations and companies in terms of management and integration of sustainability in marine strategies

It will be held at the headquarters of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) on 26th and 27th May

It will be attended by the president of Puertos del Estado, Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, and the heads of the Port Authorities of Valencia, Almeria, Bilbao, Malaga and A Coruña

Representatives from the governments of Andalusia, Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Valencia, the Canary Islands and Murcia will also take part

València, May 11th, 2022.- The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) will host the XVIII Symposium on Marinas organised by Asmar and held on 26 and 27 May. The sustainability of the activity in port management, the blue economy, the concession extension regime, port-city integration and the demand of the sector will be the main topics to be dealt with by the experts who will meet at this congress.

The Symposium will be attended by representatives of public institutions, port authorities, academics, associations and companies from sectors such as maritime and tourism. The president of Puertos del Estado, Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, will oversee closing the event. The day will be opened by the Secretary of State for the Environment of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Hugo Morán, who will give the conference The climate crisis and its effect on the ports; measures to cushion its impact on port infrastructures.

During the conference, several round tables will be held on current issues which will serve as a reflection and meeting point for the different agents of the sector. Among others, there will be discussions on concession models and new marina projects with the participation of institutional representatives from the governments of the Valencian Community, Catalonia, Andalusia, Murcia, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. The port-city integration will also be dealt with in a working group made up of the heads of the port authorities of Valencia, A Coruña, Bilbao, Malaga and Almeria.

This edition has the support of the Secretary of the Environment, the Public Entity of State Ports, the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy, the Port Authority of Valencia, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Marinas and Tourist Ports, ANEN, among others.
