The Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility has called ‘to extract to the Port of Valencia of the area of ​​the polemic and of the sterile debates and to avoid to give arguments to the competition’.

In its visit to the Port, Arcadi España has wanted to emphasize the commitment of the Port in search of a growth environmentally sustainably, with dialogue and marked the rhythm to the city of Valencia

Valencia, on July 1, 2019. – The counsellor of Territorial Politics, Public works and Mobility, Arcadi España, has met the president of the Port Authority of Valencia to know first hand the current state of the Port of Valencia and the perspectives of growth for the next years.

During its visit to the “hammer’ of the south harbor wall of the Port, the counsellor has wanted to put in value that the port as patrimony of all Valencian “already represents an economic activity of the first magnitude that generates more than 40.000 jobs” and for that reason it has realized a call “to extract to the Port of Valencia of the area of the polemic and the sterile debates and to avoid to give arguments to the competition”.

The port of Valencia is the first port in the Mediterranean and the fourth in Europe and for it to remain a benchmark for the Community and for España “the future of the port must go through three fundamental elements such as sustainability, dialogue with neighbors and local administrations and growth matched with the city of Valencia ”said Arcadi España.

In this sense the emphasized counsellor the commitment of the port “to keep on being pioneers in the environmental sustainability and in search of the energy self-sufficiency”. “Projects as the new electrical substation, the feasibility study across wind power and the pilot project with photovoltaic badges are the clear example of the commitment of the Port with the environment” counsellor Arcadi España has emphasized.

On the other hand, the president of the Port Authority of Valencia, Aurelio Martínez, has wanted to emphasize that “the Port counts with all the stamps of guarantee of environmental quality at European level and also internationally, in addition to overcoming all the audits to which they surrender annually to keep on maintaining the above mentioned stamps”.

The Port of Valencia has always been a pioneer in search of environmental sustainability and for it “we want to anticipate 2025 the targets of energy balance that Europe marks us for the year 2050” Martínez has affirmed.
