From the 25th February to the 28th March, the Casa de Cultura is hosting the Valenciaport exhibition on the cartoonist.

The inauguration of the exhibition, which will be attended by Diana Morant and Aurelio Martínez, can be followed by telematic means.

The exhibition el Puerto de Forges arrives in the waters of Gandia. An opportunity to remember or discover one of the most important and influential cartoonists in our country. A master of wit who will delight visitors who come to the Casa de Cultura Marqués de González de Quirós. Antonio Fraguas “Forges” has been our daily and weekly cartoon for years and years. He is one of the cartoonists with the most personal style both for the type of drawing and for his type of humour. Thick strokes, constant lines, recognisable and familiar characters are some of the characteristics that define Forges.

The exhibition, organised by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), in collaboration with the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humour of the University of Alcalá de Henares, takes a retrospective look at the economic and social changes and transformations experienced in Spain over the last 50 years through the characters created by the cartoonist Antonio Fraguas, Forges. The exhibition will remain at the Marqués de González de Quirós Cultural Centre from 25 February to 28 March.

The president of the Port Authority of Valencia, Aurelio Martinez and the mayoress of Gandia, Diana Morant, will participate in the opening of the exhibition which will take place this Thursday 25 February at 12.00 noon. The event will be attended by relatives of Antonio Fraguas “Forges” and representatives of the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humour.
