Aportem reflects the commitment of the port community with minors, women and immigrants in a situation of social exclusion in the Maritime neighborhoods.

Valencia, November the 22nd 2017. – The association Aportem – Puerto Solidario Valencia has been presented today publicly in an act held in the Clock Building of the port of Valencia. The event was attended by Aurelio Martínez, president of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) and Aportem; Francisco Prado, president of the Propeller and vice president of Aportem; and Zulima Pérez, regional secretary of Transparency, Social Responsibility, Participation and Cooperation.

During the event, Aurelio Martínez stressed that “Aportem was born in 2013, promoted by the PAV and by the Valenciaport Foundation, but from the beginning, it has counted with the participation of the main members and associations of the port community of Valencia. Aportem is the result of the involvement of specific people in concrete actions”.  Likewise, Aurelio Martínez stressed that everything collected through private donations is fully and directly intended to provide breakfast and snacks, clothing and shoes for schools and other organizations that serve children in situations of social exclusion in the Cabanyal, Nazareth and la Punta.

On the other hand, the director of the day center of minors Santa Ana in Nazareth has thanked the support of APORTEM to its program of psychological attention, which is one of the projects supported by the Association.

For his part, Francisco Prado stressed that “the main value of Aportem is that we deal with people face to face. It is a project that is worthwhile because it allows us to channel the willingness of the port community to collaborate and work immediately, in our closest neighborhoods. ”

Finally, Zulima Pérez pointed out that “the project of Aportem – Puerto Solidario Valencia is relevant due to several factors: it is a project of proximity, favors the social inclusion of the most disadvantaged groups and encourages the solidarity of a collective collaboration”. Similarly, the regional secretary stressed that “we are proud of this project because we like to see people who work every day to make socially responsible cities contributing not only their money but also their time to make life better for other people.”
