Aportem-Puerto Solidario Valencia continues to multiply its efforts to alleviate the situation of vulnerability experienced by various families in the Maritime District

In addition to this effort channelled by Aportem, the following companies in the Valencian port community are taking direct action

València, June 14th, 2020.- The emergency campaign carried out by Aportem, the most intense in its six-year history, has focused its aid on what is most needed. Various actions over the last three months have resulted in the delivery, so far, of more than 13,205 euros in food-vouchers that have been sent to the families of the students from different schools with which Aportem works throughout the year. Last week, the Action Committee and the Board of Directors of Aportem approved the extension of this campaign by a further 10,000 euros, thus totalling an investment of 23,305 euros to help more than 200 families.  In addition, dozens of food parcels are being delivered directly.

Through the management of the different schools and institutions, the families with the greatest need for help in managing the delivery of food or food-vouchers to meet their basic needs have been confirmed. The food- vouchers, which have been used for the first time due to the urgency of the situation, are not valid to buy products other than food.

The closure of the schools due to the health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic had blocked one of the main channels of collaboration used by Aportem, which centralises its solidarity action through these centres, through breakfasts and snacks for the children, the purchase of clothes, sports equipment, teaching materials, etc. This effort, channelled by Aportem, is in addition to the direct action of the companies in the Valencian port community, which have carried out numerous support campaigns for different groups and entities over the last three months. Since the declaration of the State of Alarm, companies and logistics professionals have contributed money, health material and food to schools, hospitals and institutions.

Aportem-Puerto Solidario Valencia is made up of associations, institutions, companies and individuals linked to the Valencian port logistics sector. Its action is focused above all on the environment of the Port of Valencia, with special attention to children at risk of social exclusion.
