The facilities of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) host public and private agents to debate on the sector

València, May 28th, 2022.- Between today and tomorrow, the facilities of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) will host the XVIII Symposium on Marinas organised by Asmar, an event that brings together experts from the sector to discuss the challenges and needs of this sector. The director of Asmar, Víctor Montero, stressed that this forum “is a meeting point for public and private agents to work in a coordinated way on all aspects related to marinas and the options that this sector generates for economic and social activity”. Montero also indicated that the choice of Valencia for this Symposium is because “it has enormous potential to continue growing and is a reference point for the activity”.

For his part, the president of Marinas de España, Gabriel Martínez, stressed that “we are working to attract opportunities for foreign investors to our marinas and cities to promote a sector that generates seasonal tourism and a stable and important impact for Spain”.

The Symposium is attended by representatives of public institutions, port authorities, academics, associations and companies from sectors such as maritime and tourism. Among the topics to be dealt with at this congress are the sustainability of port management activity, the blue economy, the regime of concession extensions, port-city integration and the demands of the sector.

The event was also attended by representatives from other countries such as the superintendent of the Ministry of Economy of the Bahia region of Brazil, Abelardo de Jesus, who indicated that “Spain is a benchmark, with extensive experience in matters as important as security, from which we have to learn in order to boost this sector in our country”.
