• Around twenty experts in sustainable development and circular economy from the regional business organisations of the CEOE met at the Clock Building
  • The aim of this meeting was to gain first-hand knowledge of the work of the Port Authority of València in the field of decarbonisation and climate neutrality

València, 18 October 2024.-The Port of València hosted the latest meeting of the Coordination Forum of territorial organisations on the environment of the CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations). The group, made up of 17 experts in environmental matters from both regional organisations and the CEOE, chose the Port of València with the aim of learning first-hand about the work of the Port Authority of València (PAV) in the field of decarbonisation and climate neutrality.

Santiago López, head of Environment of the PAV, together with Josep Sanz, director of sustainability of the Valenciaport Foundation, were responsible for explaining to the group of experts the environmental control procedures and innovation projects that make up the zero emissions plan. They also responded to the questions and doubts raised by those in charge, which focused above all on the projects and deadlines that form part of the decarbonisation strategy and its application and extension to the entire port community.

The working day ended with a visit to the commercial port of València. During the tour, they were able to see different infrastructures such as the environmental control installations – atmospheric control cabinets, acoustic control, waste, water quality, among others – and projects of the zero emissions plan – photovoltaic plants, hydrolinera or the hydrogenerator – stopping also at the hammer and in the area of the northern extension.
