The project of the Universitat Politècnica de València for the occupation of the Tinglados Fruteros 6, 7 and 8 of the Port of Gandia with a surface area of 930 square metres has been made public.
The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has ceded these spaces for the UPV to extend the facilities dedicated to marine research.
The Official State Newsletter has opened for public information the proposal of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) on the request for the occupation of port public domain assets of the Tinglados Fruteros 6, 7 and 8 of the Port of Gandia. This space ceded by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), which has an approximate surface area of 930 m², will be used for the installation of prefabricated modules to house a hydro-acoustic laboratory, for a period of ten years.
The UPV’s request comes with a view to expanding its marine research facilities. Since 2010, the sheds of the Port of Gandia have had a Joint R+D+i Unit created by the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) and the UPV. This Unit of Technology for Maritime Studies develops plans, projects and joint actions with the aim of promoting oceanography, the marine environment, and the efficient and sustainable use of fishing and aquaculture resources.
