- Accompanied by the Policia Nacional and the Guardia Civil, a team from the Port Police has coordinated an operation whose main objective is to inform of the prohibition of bathing in port waters
València, 25 July 2024.- The inner dock of the València Marina is an enclave that stands out for the beauty of its walking route: the sea, the Tinglados, the sports boats that enter and leave… but it has a singularity that not everyone knows about: bathing is totally prohibited.
With the aim of informing the citizens and tourists who stroll along the docks every afternoon of the risks associated with bathing in this area, the Port Police have carried out an operation that has covered the entire inner dock of the València marina. In a joint operation with the Policia Nacional and the Guardia Civil, the port security corps deployed personnel by land and sea to remove from the water the numerous minors who were bathing in front of the Lanzadera building and to inform them – once on land – of the existence of a rule prohibiting bathing in the dock, specifically article 8 of the Service and Police Regulations.
The bathing prohibition in the afore, mentioned article also prohibits fishing and non-compliance is grounds for the imposition of a fine of up to 150 euros. This article details that the docks, sheds, warehouses, equipment, roads, tools and land are destined for public service, as well as, in general, all the works and installations within the Service Areas of the ports, subject to the rules of these Regulations, for the embarkation, disembarkation, transhipment and transit of passengers and goods, the deposit of these and the complementary operations that are necessary, ‘not allowing their use for any other purpose without the administrative authorisation or concession required in each case by the provisions in force’.
