The Clock Building is hosting until 5 February this exhibition featuring 19 cartoonists working in the Comunitat Valenciana

València, February 2nd, 2023.- A plan full of humour, reflection, wit and art for this cold winter weekend. The Clock Building of the Port of Valencia has become a meeting place for lovers of art and graphic humour thanks to the exhibition ‘La Comunitat de l’humor. Referents gràfics valencians al port’ which is organised by Valenciaport. The exhibition, which opened on 16 December, has been visited by more than 10,000 people, who have been able to enjoy the works, talent and creativity of Valencian graphic artists.

In ‘La Comunitat de l’humor. Referents gràfics valencians al port’, visitors can enjoy 190 cartoons by the artists Daniella Martí, Diana Raznovich, E. Hormigós, El Gat Invisible, Enrique, Harca, J. Aldeguer, L. Sánchez, Lalo Kubala, Lamber, Malagón, Manel Gimeno, Ortifus, Quique, Salazar, Sebas, Xipell, Yordi and Zo.

Visitors have enjoyed learning about the history and evolution of graphic humour in Valencia and have discovered some of the cartoonists who work in different media and platforms in the Valencian Community. The exhibition, which will run until Sunday 5 February between 11.00 and 18.00, is a unique opportunity for visitors to appreciate the diversity and ingenuity of local artists. With a wide range of drawings and caricatures, the exhibition offers a unique insight into Valencian culture through the art of graphic humour and invites visitors to develop critical thinking.

The exhibition of Valencian cartoonists is a further demonstration of the vitality and creative spirit of the city, and another reason to visit the Port of Valencia and the emblematic Clock Building. The success of the exhibition demonstrates the growing interest in art and culture in Valencia, and the Port of Valencia’s commitment to promoting and celebrating local creativity, and making the Clock Building an icon and cultural reference centre for the city.

La Comunitat de l’humor. Referents gràfics valencians al port’ has an area for the youngest members of the family with a series of interactive activities, such as characters of the humorists to paint, which also allow them to learn about the work and style of the creators and encourage the use of graphic humour to promote critical opinion on current issues.

The exhibition is organised by the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) with the collaboration of the University of Alcalá de Henares and the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humour.

Graphic humorists in the Clock Building

With the exhibition ‘La Comunitat de l’humor. Referents gràfics valencians al port’, the Clock Building is once again transformed into a point of reflection, which enlivens the critical spirit and reflects the concerns of the citizens, strengthening the port-city link which the PAV is committed to and positioning itself as one of the points of reference of the cultural activity of Valencia.
In recent years, this iconic place has developed a wide range of exhibitions which have mainly dealt with themes related to port activity and which have attracted a large number of visitors.

In recent years, the “Casal del Port” (as the Clock Building is also known, due to its openness to the organisation of events and exhibitions) has paid tribute to other leading figures in Spanish graphic humour, with exhibitions by Peridis, Forges, Ortifus and Quino, which have been enjoyed by more than 50,000 visitors.
