The“LNG as Marine Fuel: the Moment of Truth” international conference, organised by Fundación Valenciaport within the framework of the GAINN projects, and financed by the European Commission through its Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Programme, was held today in Valencia and received an enthusiastic reception from attendees.
During the opening session of the conference, Ramón Gómez-Ferrer, Strategic Planning Director of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), reiterated the support by the Port of Valencia for these types of initiatives that would enable the Valencia enclave to play a pioneering role in the use of Liquid Natural Gas in the Mediterranean.
“For us –said Ramón Gómez-Ferrer– the innovation is a pillar to build the future of our business, a pillar for Valenciaport strategy to maintain its leadership role at West Med to serve trade in South Europe, a pillar to anticipate how to face the changes in our environment and to grasp new technologies to improve the efficiency and sustainability of our activities and those of the stakeholders operating in the port cluster, to achieve this goal –aligned with EU policies– of having a connected, secure, sustainable, efficient and integrated port”.
