The exhibition will be carried out with all the health safety guarantees recommended by the authorities so that the COVID-19 is not an obstacle to enjoying the work of a leading comedian such as Forges

The councilwoman of Culture of Sagunt, Asun Moll, has presented this morning the sample to the doors of the House of the Culture of the Port of Sagunto

The Municipal House of the Port of Sagunto will host this exhibition from 4 to 25 September

From Friday September 4th until Friday September 25th, the Casa Municipal of Sagunto’s port will host the exhibition “El Puerto de Forges” organized by the Port Authority of Valencia, in collaboration with the Sagunto City Council and the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humour of the University of Alcalá de Henares, and will do so with all the necessary security measures.

The councillor for Culture, Festivals and Popular Culture of the Sagunto Town Hall, Asun Moll, presented the poster for the exhibition “El Puerto de Forges” this morning in front of the Casa de la Cultura del Puerto de Sagunto, together with Ester Medán, the event’s commissioner. Moll thanked the Port Authority for considering the municipality of Sagunto as the venue for the Forges exhibition. He also said that “during the months following the closure of the coronavirus we have demonstrated in all the cultural activity that all the necessary security measures are being taken and adapted at all times by current regulations. In this exhibition we are going to continue along the same lines, maintaining this guarantee of security and, therefore, we would like to invite everyone to enjoy the exhibition”.

For Medán, with the Forges exhibition, the public in Sagunto and the Mourvedre region will be able to enjoy for the first time “a retrospective exhibition of the 50 years of Forges’ production, the creator of his own style that broke with the conventions of graphic humour in the 70s”.

“El Puerto de Forges” is a tribute from Valenciaport (the brand with which the ports of Sagunto, Gandia and Valencia work internationally) to one of the most renowned graphic humorists in our country and a man of unquestionable human quality. The works selected for this exhibition are organized in five sections: equality, the sea, environment, social commitment, and culture. The images review a trajectory of more than 50 years of commitment of the author with values necessary for the construction of a more just present and future.

The exhibition was already on display at the Clock Building in the Port of Valencia from December 20, 2019, until February 2 with a huge success of public, 12,000 people, who enjoyed the exhibition and the parallel activities that were organized on the occasion of the exhibition.

After its passage through Sagunto, the exhibition will move to Gandia.
