València, December 1, 2023.- Andres Rundu, Estonian Ambassador to Spain and Andorra, together with Marlen Rein, in charge of political and economic affairs in this embassy, have held a working meeting with the president of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Mar Chao, who has welcomed them and has detailed the value proposition of Valenciaport, as well as the operation of the facilities of its three ports: Valencia, Gandia and Sagunto, some enclosures that generate more than 50. 50,000 jobs and contribute to the Valencian economy a Gross Value Added (GVA) of more than 3.2 billion euros.
The country of 1,500 islands borders the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland and maintains excellent trade relations with Valenciaport (more than 46,000 tons handled in 2023) and has shown its willingness to expand the possibilities of collaboration with Valenciaport especially in innovation.
Rundu has also toured the Valencian docks to learn first-hand about the operation and digitization projects. These are topics of great interest in Estonia, since at present, several Estonian consulting and engineering companies collaborate with the Foundation in a variety of projects whose total amount exceeds 12 million euros.
Miguel Garín, Director of International Development at Fundación Valenciaport, was in charge of accompanying them on the visit to the site. In 2023, Valenciaport has received the visit of different institutional representatives from European, African and Latin American countries to learn about the infrastructures and services of the leading Spanish port in the Mediterranean.
