A model of the emblematic building will preside over the port community’s space at the International Fair for Environmental Solutions and Ecological Transition (ECOFIRA 2022).

The stand of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) also includes the participation of the companies Baleària, Tepsa, Vareser and Seroil-Reciclamás.

The collaboration of Amarradores del Puerto de València, Galp, Garbaport, InterSagunto, APM Terminals Valencia, Valencia Terminal Europa, Docks Logistics and MSC Terminal Valencia has also been counted on.

The Port of Valencia’s Clock Building will be the gateway to discover the environmental projects being carried out by the port community as part of the International Fair for Environmental Solutions and Ecological Transition 2022 (ECOFIRA) being held from 4 to 6 October at Feria Valenciana.

The stand of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) will be presided over by a reproduction of the emblematic six-metre building made of recycled poster which will invite visitors to get to know Valenciaport 2030, zero emissions, the objective set by the APV to become an emission-neutral port and for which it is developing a series of actions.

Thus, those attending the Valenciaport stand at ECOFIRA will be able to find out about some of these initiatives such as H2Ports – financed by the Clean Hydrogen JU programme of the European Union – which is going to test the use of hydrogen in port operations and which already has a hydrogen plant installed which will supply this fuel to port machinery which will be tested at MSC Terminal Valencia and Valencia Terminal Europa of the Grimaldi Group.

In addition, the projects of the electrical substations of the Port of Valencia, the installation of photovoltaic plants in Valencia or Gandia, the location of wind turbines, the use of alternative fuels such as Liquefied Natural Gas, the commitment to the railway, the electrical connection of the Port of Sagunto or energy efficiency actions can also be seen.

The Valenciaport space at this fair also includes the participation of the companies Baleària, Tepsa, Vareser and Seroil-Reciclamás, and the collaboration of Amarradores del Puerto de València, Galp, Garbaport, InterSagunto, APM Terminals Valencia, Valencia Terminal Europa, Docks Logistics and MSC Terminal Valencia.

This 2030 objective, zero emissions, is shared by the port community as a whole, which is working on various initiatives such as Ecoport II, a project in which 40 firms are participating and which is committed to achieving a series of objectives such as reducing water consumption, increasing waste recovery, reducing the use of fuels, calculating the carbon footprint or the use of alternative energy sources, among others.
Innovation and digitalisation

During the Fair, Valenciaport will be tackling climate change adaptation in ports on 5 October with Raúl Cascajo, head of Environmental Policies of the APV and Mercedes de Juan of the Valencianport Foundation who will be explaining the actions being carried out by the port community such as the ECCLIPSE project. The aim of this initiative is to develop tools (evaluation methodologies, local prediction models, strategies, plans and protocols) to enable the ports of the South West European area to face the threats to their infrastructures and operations as a consequence of climate change.

ECOFIRA is the international event for environmental and energy solutions, a meeting point where companies and public bodies present the latest advances in e-efficient environmental management. With 16 editions held, the event has established itself as a benchmark for professionals and companies in the sector, not only for its commercial offer, but also for its character as a forum for debate and knowledge.
