
A delegation from the Central American country, headed by the ambassador to Spain and the advisor to the vice-presidency of the government of El Salvador, has visited the Port of València.
Valenciaport has received the visit of a delegation from El Salvador with the aim of getting to know in detail the operation and potential of the Valencian precinct. The Salvadoran representation was led by the ambassador to Spain, Mauricio Antonio Peñate, the advisor to the Vice-President of the Government of El Salvador, Mario Otero, and the minister counsellor of the embassy, Edgar Huezo.
The commission from the Central American country, which is very interested in Valenciaport’s operations and its role as a driving force in the economy, held a working meeting with the president of the Valencia Port Authority (PAV), Aurelio Martínez, the deputy director general of the APV, Manuel Guerra, and the director of International Development of the Valenciaport Foundation, Miguel Garín. Among other aspects, at the meeting it was made clear that the PAV and the Valenciaport Foundation will advise the government of El Salvador on training, management and technical assistance for the development of the Central American country’s port system.
In addition, the competitive advantages of Valenciaport for the transport of goods between Spain and the countries of Central and South America were explained, highlighting the connections with more than 1,000 ports on the five continents. The strategic role of Valenciaport as an international benchmark in digitisation, innovation and commitment to decarbonisation with projects such as the electrical substation, renewable energies such as photovoltaic or green hydrogen was also highlighted.
