- The contest – hosted on Instagram – aims to showcase the different corners that make up the Port of Valencia through the perspective of its visitors or workers
- This initiative is part of a series of actions that Valenciaport is undertaking to bring the port and its surroundings closer to the public
Valencia, 20 August 2025.- The Port of Valencia, especially its historic dock and surrounding areas, serves as one of the main gateways to the city and is an iconic place that forms part of the daily life of locals. The modernist warehouses, the mooring areas, the promenades and nearby buildings, and the Clock Building are some of the most characteristic features, but Valenciaport wants citizens, visitors and port workers to capture in images the places they like best or that have the greatest impact on them, without ruling out alternatives such as aerial views of the port from planes arriving or departing from Manises airport.

To this end, the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has organized a photography competition accepting images taken with a mobile phone or camera.
To participate in the competition, entrants must be of legal age, have a public Instagram profile and upload an image related to the Port of Valencia with the hashtag #Unamiradadevalenciaport and mention or tag @valenciaport – the APV’s Instagram profile.
A jury will select the five photographs that best reflect the Valencian port area. The prizes will be a power bank, an infinity pen, a mug and other promotional materials from Valenciaport.
Entries can be uploaded to social media, each to their own profile – with the indicated hashtags – until 30 September, and will be judged on aspects such as originality, composition and creativity. The top five images will win a prize.
The Port of Valencia and its relationship with the city
The earliest records of port transactions on the coast of Valencia date back to the 6th century BC, but it was not until 1483 that King Ferdinand the Catholic authorized the construction of the ‘Pont de Fusta’ on Grao beach. Over the centuries, port infrastructure has grown, placing the Port of Valencia in a leading position among commercial ports in Europe and the Mediterranean.
This growth has led to the emergence of buildings that now form part of the city’s skyline and make it recognizable from the seafront. The modernist warehouses and the Clock Building are some of the historical examples, which have recently been joined by others such as Veles e Vents.
VERY IMPORTANT: Participation in this competition implies full acceptance of the competition rules published on https://www.valenciaport.com/wp-content/uploads/Bases-concurso-Una-mirada-de-Valenciaport-esp.pdf.
